Croatia Sibenik Sailing Adventure (with Oran Teach)

This won’t be your regular sailing course. We're chasing the wind, nature and adventure. Comfort? Yeah, nah, not so much.

We shall embark from the island of Murter in Croatia and head wherever the wind will take us. We might go north to the beautiful nature parks Kornati, Telašćica & Dugi otok (feel free to Google, but it won’t do the justice it deserves), or go more south and enjoy Šibenik, sailing up the rivers to Krka waterfalls, and relishing all the picturesque little harbor towns along the area, where we’ll indulge in amazing seafood.

The boat is a fast performance machine - the Beneteau First 35, where the helm is a proper helm, probably bigger than you. You can self-handle it or practice with a mini crew. Since it’s a performance 35ft boat, we can tweak every part of the sails. The mainsheet traveller spans from beam to beam, the headsail car is longer than your flights to Croatia, and there's even the option to move the Genoa clew sideways to create a better air tunnel. We can rake the mast with one pull of a line without the use of winches. I could go on and on about this boat, but believe me, it’s super fun to learn how to sail on it! It’s work; it’s not as comfy as other cruising boats, but it’s the most fun work you can do!

The forward cabin can fit two people, and the aft cabin can fit one person. I’ll (Oran) sleep in the saloon, so you have got to come prepared for an intimate experience! And that intimacy will bring us together as a team.

With a maximum of 3 students, this course has the best student to instructor ratio we offer. Plus a smaller pack travels faster, so there will be even more chill time!

Requirements: You can sign up to this course without prior experience.

Certifications: Earn 2 ASA certifications from ASA 101, 103, 104, 105 and 106 according to your experience .

The course fees include:
- 6 nights accommodation aboard a 35ft sailing yacht.
- Professional Sailing Virgins Instructor to guide you through the week, cover the course content and keep the vibes high at all times
- 2 x ASA levels (including textbooks and certifications)
- Breakfast and lunch daily as well as two dinners on the boat
- All fuel, mooring fees, water and ice for the boat

The course fees do not include:
- Travel to and from the course meeting point in Murter, Croatia
- Meals, drinks and activities ashore
- Instructor gratuity

Sample Itinerary

(Note that the exact route changes each week depending on the weather, crew preferences and any special events that are happening.)

Saturday - Grab provisions, get to know the boat and go anchor in a bay around the corner from the base marina.

Sunday - Go out and get some sailing done, understand all the different lines and systems on the boat, anchor in Primosten and explore the city

Monday - More sailing and drills, sail to explore Kornati National Park. 

Tuesday - More sailing and anchoring drills, sail to explore Telašćica National Park, cliff jumping for lunch.

Wednesday - Docking and med mooring drills in one of the small towns around Telašćica area.

Thursday  - Continue with sailing drills touchup on whatever is needed, visit Zadar old city.

Friday - Sail back to base marina

Payment Schedule

When booking with a deposit, the payments will be due according to the following schedule:

- 90 days before course commencement: 50% of the total amount

- 60 days before course commencement: 100% of the total amount
